RoHS



The European RoHS Directive (Restriction of the use or of certain Hazardous Substances) (2011/65 / EC) aims to limit the use of six hazardous substances:

  • the lead,
  • Mercury,
  • cadmium,
  • hexavalent chromium,
  • polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
  • polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

The EOZ products all comply with this Directive.

REACH



Regulation of the European Community No. 1907/2006 / EC dated 18/12/2006 concerning the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals (REACH): echa.europa.eu/candidate-list -table
 
Our company is well aware of the new obligations under the REACH Regulation n°1907/2006 / EC.

We hired the necessary arrangements with our suppliers so that we ensure the conformity of products they supply to us with these regulations.

Conflict Minerals

1502 legislation of the Dodd-Frank Act "Conflict Minerals" was adopted in the US in 2010, the final version adopted is 22 August 2012.

It is able to determine the origin of 4 precious minerals (Tantalum, Tin, Tungsten, Gold) from mines from areas at risk or in conflict.

March 5, 2014, a draft text to the importers in the Union one of the minerals mentioned above was announced.
 
EOZ includes parfaitemement the importance of this issue.

This done, the company undertakes to adopt, distribute and integrate into the contracts and / or agreements with suppliers, the policy on responsible sourcing of minerals from conflict zones or high risk.

Hong Kong Convention

The Hong Kong Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships is an international convention adopted in 2009 and completion of the work between the Member States of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
 
This agreement covers:

  • Control over the entire life cycle of a ship (design, construction, maintenance and decommissioning). And each ship will have at conception, a recycling plan and undergo inspections.
  • Facilities dismantling and recycling which have to respect the provisions on recycling and the processes used to dismantle the ship.
